Item arrived quickly and well-packed, and with an extra glass lamp shade so that was a nice touch. The body is made out of aluminum, which is covered with some type of colored coating (not sure if it's powder coated or painted). I ordered the gold/brass body with the gray bulbs. There were some cosmetic scratches in the paint, and some dings on the aluminum body (specifically the parts that hold the light bulb). One of the tiny screws that sits inside the piece that holds the lightbulb fell out, and I did have to screw it back together.Make sure that you don't screw the lightbulbs in too tightly, otherwise it will be a challenge to change them later on since the white part that holds the bulb refuses to stay in play while you're twisting. The color on the glass lamp shades is painted NOT baked in, so be super careful when washing them or moving them around the metal parts as the color will scratch off.The gold color of the lamp body is a super unattractive dingy dark yellow that looked nothing like gold or brass. I ended up spray painting it.The directions were crap, but putting the pieces of the lamp together seemed fairly intuitive. I only got anxious when it was time to connect the wires throughout the lamp to prepare it for hanging. There are no directions for this, and the youtube video that the company has on installing the lamp is utterly useless because they do the demo on a lamp with preassembled wires. So, in case anyone else needs to know:DIRECTIONS FOR CONNECTING THE WIRES THROUGHOUT THE LAMP TO PREPARE FOR HANGING:1. Unscrew and take off the back of the little upside down Y shaped connector that sits right underneath the main stem of the lamp.2. Snake all the three sets of wires through the poles so that they end up in this little upside down Y shaped connector (the two smaller sets of white & black wires that are covered with the white and red netting and the large double ended black covered wire).3. Starting with the silver tipped wires, connect like color with like color. To connect them, just twist the silver ends together.4. Repeat step three, but this time, connect the copper white wire with the silver white wires you've already twisted. Then, then stick that twisted end into one of the small orange caps provided, twisting the cap until it tightens around the wires. Do this same thing with the set of black wires.5. Tuck everything into the little upside down Y shaped connector, screw the back on, and proceed with connecting the other end of the large double ended black covered wire to your ceiling box.Sorry I don't have pics of all this. Didn't think to take them along the way of this miserable process of hanging this light alone. On the plus side, I can confirm that this light can be hanged by someone who has never installed a light fixture before, and done alone. Would really recommend having a handy helper though! All in all, the light is very pretty and exactly the look that I wanted. I found it pretty easy to position the stems. However, I can't for the life of me figure out how they got the lamp to lay more horizontally as in the promo images. FYI, the light is very bright. You will probably need a dimmer.***FYI, if the ceiling mount bracket provided doesn't fit the size of your ceiling box, you can get what's called an "Adjustable Crossbar Kit - Adjusts from 3.875in to 5in" from Home Depot. Just put this new piece UNDERNEATH the ceiling mount bracket that comes with the lamp, and then mount. I HIGHLY recommend figuring this out before you get all the way to the end and get ready to hang the light only to find out the holes are just 1/8 of an inch off from what's in your ceiling and want to primal scream. Don't be like me.We replaced a hideous, stuck in the 90’s light fixture that cast a glow like you were being interrogated with this, & what an improvement!! Truthfully almost anything would’ve been an improvement to what was there, lol. Since our local Home Depot just didn’t have enticing enough options for us, Amazon was the way to go, & I was impressed with both the speed at which the shipped & the thoroughness with which this was packed. The pros:-Looks way more expensive than it is-provides ample & flattering light over a large area (especially when paired with some warm colored Edison bulbs)The cons:-almost non existent assembly & installation instructions...there was a lot of guessing & praying going on in our house!-If you’re replacing a fixture that had a 4” round electrical box (which my dad, who is an electrician, assures me is pretty much the standard), this likely won’t install without at least little rigging-may be difficult install for some, especially if you think you’ll attempt alone (wouldn’t advise that)-the gold color is slightly more green/yellow than I’d prefer, but not awful enough to warrant me returningEdit:One more con...if installing this on a sloped ceiling as we had, please note, it isn’t designed for this type of installation, so it likely won’t sit exactly right. Our slope wasn’t super dramatic, so it should be fine, but it’s definitely something to consider. The light looks beautiful and you can move the arms around to your specific design. One of the joints broke but their customer support was phenomenal and sent a replacement immediately. The light I got was not made correctly. The different pieces came in different finishes. Some in a really nice brass and some in a yellow glittery finish that looks very cheap. On top of all that, it’s not made correctly, not enough wiring to thread through the rod to hang the light (see pictures).I have request refund or replacement. Will Update.UPDATE: The sellers gave me a full refund and a discount to buy another light since mine was defective. Very happy with their customer service.Update:The seller was very responsive about my concerns and allowed a return. Bumping from 1 star to 3.I read the reviews but now I’m questioning if any of these 5 stars are actually real based on my experience. This has been the light fixture from hell. First off, it’s a horrible gold color. It’s bright yellow/green instead of a soft gold. But whatever, we decided to try it anyways. Most importantly, this light is a scary fire hazard you do not want to have in your house. We had an electrician come install it and he commented how thin and dangerous the wiring was. As he was leaving, on of the wires sparked and blew! Thank god none of us were directly under it otherwise we would have been burned. Our electrician offered to buy nicer wire and re-wire the entire thing but we didn’t plan on keeping it at that point. And when the second wire blew, that sealed the deal.Save your money and pay extra for a nicer light fixture. It’s honestly not worth the risk of burning your house down.Good price but beware the wire nuts are super cheap I would use your own. And the mounting screws and plate don’t work for a standard us electric box. I’m not sure how it was supposed to mount but the stuff it came with was nuts. And no instructions that actually worked. I’ll have to go add some Lowe’s hardware. Which may make the sub 200$ price not worth it. The Allen wrench was so cheap it stripped the first couple screws; I had to go get my own. In the end it looks alright though.I have had amazon prime for years and buy a ton from amazon. This is hands down the worst experience I have ever had with item quality and the seller. I returned the items as per amazon's instructions, provided proof of shipping receipt and tracking that showed the seller had received it and he still refused to refund. Had to open a claim with amazon that was escalated multiple times to finally get my money back. The glass arrived broken, it is a horrible painted finish with dents so bad I couldn't even get the ends to fit on, the wiring is not fully assembled and it there is zero chance this is CSA approved, I used to be a lighting buyer for a major retailer and this is an incredibly dangerous item that should not be allowed into Canada.Good costumer service in case there is a problem
