It looks good when installed. We bought the square one and didn’t want it hanging low. We don’t have super high ceilings in our dining room but the real wood industrial look is hard to find. I read reviews that said you don’t need to use rods and at first thought I’d wrap the chain up and hang from that. Well to be honest it’s you either use the rods or do what I did and go straight into the ceiling brace. Not quite sure how anyone could hang this directly from the chains. Think those comments might be for a different model. It took me about two hours to install mostly due to figuring out how I wanted it. For 175 bucks it’s a great fixture but now for the bad...1.) I’m pretty handy and when I tried to feed the screws from the light into the ceiling brace the ceiling braces holes were slightly off and I was unable to do it. Luckily I know how to grind metal and have a dremel so I bore out the holes in the brace using a dremel and tungsten bit. This aligned them enough to feed the two screws into the brace from the light body. To be fair this is meant to be hung from a high ceiling and with rods which can be bent slightly...so my install was slightly against the book so if you used the rods no way you’d have this problem.2.) the light bulbs. What the heck...the bulbs were dirty and looked used. It was really odd. I spent another extra step cleaning each light bulb. No idea where they got these bulbs or if they were returns repackaged but that was a huge crock. Felt a bit cheated on the bulbs but I guess it came with bulbs which is better than nothing.3) now on this one it’s a 175 light fixture with real wood...so it’s cheap relative for what you get. After installing the thing putting g bulbs in and then turning it on. Some of the lights noticeably are not straight. They aren’t off by a lot but if you are ocd I could see it driving someone nuts. Not sure if this is a function of the used bulbs or a function of the fixture being cheap. Oh well.Overall 4 stars and I’d recommend but if you install like I did without the rods better be fairly handy or hope the holes line up. Feel bad throwing away the rods and chains but nice that you CAN install it differently.So I’m love with this!! Our ceilings are your average height so reading previous reviews I was nervous at first about how low it would hang. We knew using both the chain and the bars it would be way too low so we started with only using the bars. The light sat at eye level which was hard to look at so we took it down and used half the bar size using the chain (7 links.) We hung it using only the 7 links and no bar, which is absolutely perfect for the room! It was nice that the materials allowed us to make it fit our space without completing taking away the general look of the piece. I have gotten many compliments on it already and have recommended this product!We had a problem with the shipment and delivery of the light which likely had nothing to do with Dearlan. I expressed concerns regarding my issues with the shipment as well as defective lights that likely were damaged in the shipping process. Lisa from Dearlan contacted me directly to get this rectified and has been extremely responsive. All concerns regarding our purchase were addressed and fixed very quickly and I'm quite thankful for her. My wife loves the light fixture and it is a great addition to our kitchen. I would recommend working with Dearlan and will purchase from them again in the future.This chandelier is beautiful but I would not recommend it for a slanted ceiling. The chains do not provide enough adjustment to make the chandelier level on a slanted ceiling. Ultimately we were creative with the use of spacers to make this work for our home. Lots of trial and error. Other than that we love the final product.Looks really nice. Very bright. I need to get a dimmer for it, so it’s not blindingI absolutely love this light!! It really completes my farmhouse look! I was so disappointed though because the rods where too long so it hung extremely low! I do not recommend for standard height ceilings plus my table is high too but did a quick fix went to menards and got smaller rods. Worked better than I could of imagined!! Installation wasn’t too bad either but certainly need 2 people getting it up!Just what I wanted! This is perfect. I am disappointed the box came damaged and the product was dented but I was so excited that I didn’t want to return and wait for hubby to install. It was super easy and has an option to use the chains or not or both. I chose both it was super easy to install.Love how it looks and you get more value for your money.
