I decided to replace the light above my spiral staircase with this one, as the other one was super old-fashioned and kind of messed up by the previous owners of my house not covering things before painting.I noticed the black protective film on the base right away, and decided to keep it on until after installation to minimize fingerprints. I could have used gloves.. But I didn't have any on hand and didn't want to have to buy some. I did slightly regret it down the road because it was annoying getting the film off around all the hanging pendants, but I eventually did it, without any finger prints left on the extremely fingerprint-sensitive chrome plating.I marked out 4 spots using the x shaped base after lining up holes with the existing lighting mount in the ceiling and used my own anchors. I first tried to use the ones that came with this light but the uneven ceiling made it difficult to use, so I ended up using heavy duty metal anchors. I'm confident the light won't fall anytime soon.The light is very bright, but that's because of the bulbs I chose. They include extra glass balls and other pieces in case there are some damaged along the way... But not many. I had two balls scratched up so I made use of all the extra pieces I was given.All in all... 4.2/5. Beautiful light. Simple install. Conversation starter.Little tricky to install but well worth itGood to have two people during install 1 to hold and 1 to do wiring. Finish product looks very niceIt is nice but too little. It looks fine in a bathroom or closet. Also any small room please don’t use the bulb that is used for night light lamp even it fits doesn’t light up too much. Use E12 is the right one and the lamp will look beautiful. I am attaching pictures you can see the big difference.my daughter loves it in her room
